This morning – very early, since excitement has its own alarm clock – we opened the store doors for the very first time and turned on the light. our light. The day before, until very late, we went back to dusting and waxing the back office floor, looking proudly at the shelves, made of pixels, finalizing details and checking procedures. Everything seemed in the right place, in the right place. Everything indicated that it was finally time to open the door. A virtual door, of an online store, which only required the press of a button, the command of a digital order, to open our space to the world, the Light It Be website. A place that has light in its DNA, and that has wood in its heart. An open door to a universe, made of passion and many lamps, which brings us everything again, including some unexpected calluses and blisters on our hands. Even though they are open on a virtual avenue, right in the center of cybernetic commerce, and mainly because we are not meager in imagination, we feel the cold of the street, the first cold of this autumn, entering the store, we feel the scents of the season and the hesitant steps of the first customers. It's still just curiosity, the interest in understanding what we do and what we came for. We came for good, first of all, and we came enlightened, clarifying the path, ours and, hopefully, that of many others. We bring natural light in our suitcase, unique lamps, unrepeatable pieces, of enormous decorative potential, that we build manually, from the wood of our own trees. It's not for everyone, we know. It's just for those who like it. For those who, like us, admire Nature and value the uniqueness that only artisanal work allows.
On this first day of an adventure that, like all adventures, is dressed in enthusiasm and frenzy, fears and arrhythmias, smiles and heart failures, we rehearse our ability to talk about ourselves - we, who always prefer to listen to others -, to know infect friends and customers with our passion for the unparalleled elegance of simple things. Those that we manage to produce with our hands that, scramblingly strive to bring to the light of day, and of the night, everything that goes in our head and, mainly, in our chest.
The mission is ambitious, to bring light, our light, wherever it is needed, where it is appreciated and valued, hence a certain dose of humility, which still resists in the midst of all the pride I confess for our 'enlightened' path. . No less audacious is the desire and dream of being able to meet others like us, who see lamps on tree branches and spots of light in the middle of the dense forest. We hope to get there, with your help to indicate new and better paths. Side by side in this experience.
